Ocean Park – Rivalries are nothing new to the Diva Dolls, but tempers tend to run higher in Ocean Park. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better example of that than the bitterness brewing between Onyx the African Dream and Hollywood Barbie.
“I don’t like her or what she stands for,” Onyx told me backstage at a recent show in San Francisco. “She prances around the ring like she’s the greatest wrestler to ever lace up a pair of boots and I for one and damn tired of it!”
May believe that this feud may have been instigated by a backstage altercation a week or two ago, but my sources tell me that it all boils down to a simple I DON’T LIKE YOU AND YOU DON’T LIKE ME situation. Barbie is one of those wrestlers who always seem to skate by regardless of the competition; often by tactics that are frowned upon. But Onyx is different. She’s big, she’s strong and she can stand in the ring with the best of them. The only knock on Onyx is her lack of experience but I don’t think that’s going to stop her in her quest to send a message to Hollywood Barbie.
I caught up with Barbie earlier today to specifically get a quote about what Onyx said. She just smiled at me and offered up, “Well, that’s the beauty about professional wrestling….anytime you have a problem with one of the other girls, there’s always a place for it to be settled…..it’s called the ring.”
This is far from being settled, but the more I hear about this and other altercations, you know it will be here first.
