DALLAS TEXAS – They say everything is big in Texas; and it doesn’t get much bigger than former world champion and 3x Lone Star State champion Dixie Del Rio.

If you look up the work “over-achiever”, the definition should read, “see Dixie Del Rio.” A former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, quarterback for the Chicago Bliss in the LFL and dance squad member for the Dallas Mavericks, Dixie has pretty much done it all; and that’s BEFORE she entered professional wrestling.

Hailing from an athletic background Dixie excelled in sports such as basketball, football, gymnastics and swimming. So why not go after the next challenge in your life? What better reason to enter the world of professional wrestling.

Dixie made headlines back in 2011 when she entered and won the annual Lone Star Women’s Rookie Battle Royale. Since then all she’s done is piled up victory after victory establishing herself as one of the premier women in the sport. In December of 2013, she shocked the professional wrestling world by defeating Onya Rampage for the GPWW World Title. At that point all the detractors that wrote Dixie off as just another pretty girls trying to use the wrestling business as a stair-step to another career had to finally stop and take notice.

Dixie Del Rio is legit.

As if life couldn’t get any better for Dixie in the wrestling business, perhaps her finest day came the moment Rhett Del Rio (of the legendary Del Rio wrestling dynasty) proposed marriage. The two have been married just over a year now with Dixie adding to an already accomplished wrestling family.

Not looking to rest on her laurels, Dixie is set to take the next step on her journey towards GPWW greatness by heading west to Ocean Park this summer.

“I’m a 3-time Lone Star State champion. I love Texas and I love representing Texas as one of the greatest women to step inside a ring in that state, but after holding GPWW’s top prize, I need to have that feeling again. I’m currently ranked in the top 5 for a shot at Big Red. The only two names ahead of me are Shelly the Bod and The Slammer. So I need to head to the mecca of GPWW in Ocean Park and excel to the top with the same tenacity I did in Texas,” Dixie told Megan Moretti.

When asked how she wanted to acclimate into the western territory, she simply responded, “I’m not here to mess around. I want Shelly the Bod! If not her, then give me The Slammer. I don’t care which order I face them in….they’re both going down!”
